Our Story
My daughter had expressed interest in going into the fashion industry. I wanted to help her but fashion is something I had no interest in AT ALL. But I figured since she was interested in the fashion industry I could learn about it along with her. What better way to learn about the fashion industry than to create your own brand.
Now I had to decide what type of clothing we could make and what would be the concept behind it.
Going about my day to day activities I always liked being able to throw on a comfortable pair of sweatpants or a hoodie. I could run errands, meet with clients and go about taking care of my daily business. Working from home I could be comfortable in my sweatpants. If I had to meet a client I would throw on sweats. I realized that when I was getting things done I was always wearing sweatpants and/or a hoodie no matter what part of the day. LIGHT BULB MOMENT. I was LIVING LIFE in sweats! The clothing line would be activewear and LIVE LIFE would be my tagline.
I had the type of clothes and concept but now I needed a name. After going through a long list of names it popped in my head. My daughters birthday is MAY 21… FIVE21 was born!
Often we all get caught up in the daily cycle of life. Get up, go to work, come home and do it all again the next day. FIVE21 wants to encourage everyone to look beyond that monotonous cycle and see the whole picture. Enjoy your your job. If you can’t then find one that you do enjoy. Don’t forget to have fun in whatever it is your doing. Most importantly RELAX. We WORK hard and PLAY hard but we often forget to relax just as hard as we work and play. Take some time out to reset and refocus. Enjoy the view!

WAIT! Here is where it gets more interesting…
I received a phone call from some friends in regards to the name FIVE21. One of them I hadn’t talked to or seen in over 20 years. He began to tell me that he had Googled the number 521 and that it had positive connotations, energy and meanings. I hadn’t told them about the whole concept behind FIVE21 being to encourage people to Live Life. We all were shocked at the similarities behind my concept and the numerology definitions of 521.
Was it is a coincidence? An accident? Or the universe speaking? Don’t know. Whatever it is stay positive and LIVE LIFE.
The word 521 is used in Chinese meaning I love you.
